[He puts his hands on his hips and look up at her like he's absolutely disappointed.]

And you didn't think to steal me away from my Altus lifestyle in Tevinter? How dare you. Quite a missed opportunity.

[All joking aside now though. He did like the kushier things about his life of course, but he hated the whole, trying to be forced to be something he never wanted to be.

Oh, the Mage-Templar war? [He squints a little up at the other because he's fairly sure she's NOT Dalish, so he has to wonder how she DOESN'T know. But there's nothing that's been said to specifically say she's definitely from Thedas either. Even if she seems familiar with Templar...There's also the possibility of other times other realities, who knows what else. So he'll just sigh and start from the beginning. Try to summarize every awful thing that happened, at least... from what he's aware. It's not as if he had any of it worry about while living in Tevinter.]

Goodness that is a long and terrible story, it's all quite a mess. Mages rebelled, the Kirkwall Circle was destroyed. Soon the other circles began to follow suit with mages rebelling against their captors or Templar invoking the Rite of Annulment and slaughtering mages. Eventually all circles were disbanded and while some mages fled, others wanted revenge. Many Templar turned from the Chantry and chose to hunt mages. Though the Rebel mages seeking out conflict don't help matters, most mages are simply refugees looking to escape certain death and wanting a safe place to live their lives.

There was going to be a peace summit led by the Divine but... well, things went absolutely pear-shaped.
